Hello hello! Just a short post today to share that I have TWO new prints available in my webshop! A special birthday cake watercolor + a panettone watercolor.
This cake painting was one of my favorite pieces I made last year. It was originally created for a book project that is no longer coming into fruition, and now it’s changed directions into a very iconic feeling piece of work that represents a sense of celebration and joy. When I was painting these little sprinkles I truly felt SO joyful. Like my inner child was getting to play with these teeny tiny balls of color. I loved the process of making this painting and I hope it will bring a reminder of joy into your home as well. The painting is available as an archival print in various sizes, but my favorite is the large 20x20” as seen below.
This panettone was a very special commissioned painting that I made for a baker at Sub Rosa Bakery (this is not my first piece inspired by Sub Rosa’s beautiful creations!). The owners of Sub Rosa are wonderfully thoughtful people, and they wanted to gift their baker with this portrait as a thank you for creating their most incredible panettone recipe. The panettone they make is the best I have ever had, truly. Sourdough based with homemade candied fruits and incredible artisan chocolate and toasted nuts. I can’t recommend it enough and it’s only available around the holiday season, so pre-order yours asap if you are in the Richmond area!
Bread is always fun for me to paint. I love getting lost in all of the crevices and glutinous caves and valleys. This is available as an archival print as well, in various sizes, and I really like the little mini 5x5” size.
