I have always been a routine-oriented person and cling to a few rituals that help me cope. I am an early riser and begin my day with coffee while I read something uplifting. My Mom modeled reading and early-morning quiet time. I am currently reading A BOOK OF UNCOMMON PRAYER, 100 CELEBRATIONS OF THE MIRACLE AND MUDDLE OF THE ORDINARY, Brian Doyle. Following my reading I pray for my loved ones and for the state of our country. I get outside as soon as possible and take a good, long walk. That ritual brings me calm like no other! ❤️

Wow Pam, I so love this. I love starting your day with reading something uplifting...what a good mood booster to start your day. And getting outside is such a good one too. Thank you for sharing!

Back in the summer, I started going for morning walks on the days I worked from home as a way to gently start my day vs waking and hopping on my computer. No music, no podcasts, just my thoughts while walking. I do basically the same 30 min loop, but it has been a nice morning ritual. It’s also helped me get out of the house in the winter because in Wisconsin it is easy to opt to stay inside (it’s been in the negatives lately!). But the sunshine on my face is so worth it!

I love this. What a simple and beautiful way to offer yourself some space to kick off your days! And I feel you on the cold temps...so hard to make yourself get out there but as long as you are bundled and there is sunshine, it always feels very worth it in the end! Happy winter walks to you Steph :)

My first thing in the morning little daily ritual is to sit on the couch in front of my living room window with my 10 month old daughter and a cup of coffee. I open the blinds and the sun comes pouring in. She points at things outside and around the room and we “talk” about what she sees. She is fascinated by the most mundane things, like this morning, she discovered the little clear plastic knob that the curtain string gets wound around. She also always needs to touch my coffee mug and wants to dunk her hand inside of it. Come do a workshop in Milwaukee or Madison!

Such a lovely ritual and bonding time with your daughter. Getting to take in the day sharing her ‘new’ eyes as well :) thank you for sharing. And would love to come out to Wisconsin someday! ❤️

Love these-- such accessible but powerful actions! I have a ritual of putting on (and taking off) my jewelry each day-- each piece has meaning and reminds me how I want to be as I go out into the world.

wow I love this! What a beautiful way to meet yourself with expression and adornment. I love the intention and taking of time with each piece. I'm going to invite this kind of energy into my own adorning, thank you!
